Manufacture Of (Float) Glass.

During the manufacture of a glass ribbon on a bath of molten tin in which a mass of glass deposited on the bath flows forwardly, rearward, and diverging outwardly to generate the ribbon, heat is applied to at least part of the glass flowing from the mass at a location rearward of its forward flow to increase its temperature and reduce its stagnation.
