Manufacture Of Flat Glass On Improved Molten Metal Bath.

The glass ribbon is advanced over a molten alloy of tin and a noble metal selected from the group consisting of silver, gold, platinum, palladium and rhodium, the noble metal being present in amounts from about 50% to 1% of the bath, thereby forming a tin alloy having a melting point below 700C and being one.
