Manslaughter Caused By A Hit-And-Run: Glass As Evidence Of Association

Three glass fragments that were removed from a vehicle involved in an accident was analysed by forensic experts using ICP-AES. Quantitative analysis of the metals, Al, Fe, Zr, Mg, Ca, and Ti was performed. The results are presented in this paper. This case may be especially useful to forensic scientists who are interpreting materials analysis to determine if an association exists between a sample recovered at a crime scene and a source linking the perpetrator.
