Magnetic Solution Separates Metal From Glass

Andrin Group (France, fax: +33 3 82 261 317), supplies metal separation and sorting equipment for the glass industry. Its eddy current separators are used worldwide in a number of different industries. The company has modified and optimised the separators to meet the needs of recycling in the glass industry and has introduced the STS series. Using the most up-to-date higher performance magnets, the company has been able to increase efficiency in the separation of lead in comparison with systems previously used. The used glass to be demetallised is taken from a storage container and transferred via a vibratory chute in a continous layer onto a conveyor belt. At the end of the belt the metal objects pass through a high intensity alternating magnetic field, which generates eddy current by magnetic field induction, even in non-ferrous objects.
