Machining Ceramic With Ultrasound And Diamond

A system has been developed, based on conventional ultrasonic drilling, which apart from the flexibly designed machine consists also of a precision sonotrode tool change system, a rapid workpiece change system and a sonotrode system capable of operating in one to three dimensions. Through the use of modern control techniques, and diamond tooling, the new machine is equal to the demands arising in the machining of engineering ceramics.
