Machine Speed, Coloured Glass And Workability (In Italian)

For a series of 33 glasses of different chemical composition (mostly container), a correlation has been established between the machine speed (calculated by Lyle's equation) and a number of parameters such as E (activation energy of viscous flow), the B term in the viscosity/temperature, the working range (DT) and the cooling rate. The results obtained show an excellent correlation between the cooling rate and machine speed, which decreases progressively with decreasing E, B and DT.
