Low Temperature Synthesis Of Bioactive Glass Through Polymer Route

Bioactive glass is well known for its ability of bone regeneration. In this work, it was prepared by polymer route technique at low temperature. Two types of polymers; polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) were used. The prepared samples were compared with synthetic bioglass prepared by melting (BM) at high temperature with specific regime. The physicochemical properties of the prepared powder samples were characterised using several physicochemical methods such as XRD, FTIR, DTA, SEM and DLS and Zeta potential. The bioactivity after immersion times was investigated.
