Low E Glass: What Is It? And Why Is It The Future For Double Glazed Units?

Low emissivity glass, or low E glass as it is usually referred to, is used for the purpose of heat retention. A thin, clear coating is given to glass in sealed units to reflect heat back into a room, whilst also allowing further heat gain from the sun. The measure of heat gain received through such units is known as "U" value; the lower the value, the greater the heat conservation.
