Lottery Grant For Glasshouse Centre Development

The Glasshouse Centre at Stourbridge is celebrating after securing a £2M lottery grant towards transforming the old crystal factory into a state-of-the-art glass, arts & education complex. Heritage Lottery Fund has assigned the money for the Glasshouse Development to completely revamp the Victorian glass manufacturing site off Wollaston Road into a top tourist attraction to bring Stourbridge's Glass Quarter into the 21st century. Glasshouse managers are very pleased by news, but must keep up their hard work to secure further funding from Advantage West Midlands & the Learning & Skills Council to meet the £16M costs needed for the massive project. Janine Christley, the Glasshouse's head of development, said: "Everyone is delighted to have such strong support from Heritage Lottery Fund; it should be the leverage we need to encourage other funders".
