Dura Temp Corp has recently added new stainless steel vacuum pads for tableware applications to its product mix. During the testing phase, these new pads proved to have significantly longer wear life than other materials currently available to tableware manufacturers. In one case, the material lasted for 80 continuous hours and did not cause checks. Using Dura Temp's vacuum pads resulted in a saving of over £1000 for the tableware manufacturer due to less downtime to change the pads and minimal material costs. The pads are made of a stainless steel felt material adhered to a silicone rubber backing (designated DT-24). The stainless steel material contours itself to the top of the wear and the rubber back allows for easy attachment to the vacuum head. The pads are available in sheet form and custom die-cut sizes.
