Long-Term Behaviour Assessment Of Vitrified Domestic Waste Incineration Fly-Ash Pruification Residues (In French)

The methodology for the long-term behaviour assessment of nuclear waste glasses was applied to melted materials resulting from the vitrification of domestic waste incineration fly-ash purification residues. This methodology points out the description of the material, the mechanisms of its alteration under chosen conditions of storage and the modelling which allows the prediction over a period of time that otherwise is too long for experimentation. The very low alteration rates of three compositions of materials could thus be appreciated. The concentrations in toxic elements rejected into the environment for the proposed disposal sites are very low, in spite of the restrictive margins used in modellings.
