Lightweighting Innovations

Heye Glas has been manufacturing glass for some 200 years. During the past 30 years the company has concentrated its efforts on lightweighting technology, a result of which has shown promising reductions in the usage energy and raw materials, while production speeds have increased. This paper looks at Heye's innovations in this technology over the last 30 years. It also examines the reasons behind the development of lightweighting and explains how it is achieved.
