Light Colouring: The Procedure'S Flexibility Allows Specific Tints For Glass Bottles (In French)

Light tinting has existed for some time in perfumery but is now extending into food products. Saint-Gobain Emballage offers it in seven tints, as a result of partnership with Saint-Gobain Desjonqueres. It responds to marketing demands, particularly in the wine sector which faces competition from modern New World wine bottle decoration. The company is so convinced of its popularity among all liquid food markets that it has created three new looks. P'references is for the wine segment, Linea for spirits and Ingie for flavoured mineral waters. Bacardi ordered 1M, and its second order was for 3M bottles. Predictions are that the current 1% being produced could rise to 5 or 6% by 2005.
