As sustainability concerns become paramount in today's society, life-cycle analysis (LCA) becomes an indispensable tool that informs industries, customers, regulators etc. So far, no comprehensive or credible study has been available for float glass. This gap has now been fulfilled as Glass for Europe, the association of Europe's manufacturers of building, automotive and solar energy glass, has just revealed the outcome of its "cradle-to-factory gate" LCA of clear float glass for building applications.
