Tableware manufacturer Libbey plans to cut capacity and reduce staff within its N American business. The company said its realignment at its Shreveport, LA site would affect 200 jobs. Some production would be relocated to its facilities in Toledo, OH, and Monterrey, MX. Existing staff would handle the relocated production at those sites. The tentative plan will be further discussed with the United Steelworkers (USW), which represents Libbey employees in Shreveport. The plan will see it exit sales of certain glassware items.
