John F. Meier, chairman and chief executive officer of Libbey Inc., rang the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange on 19 January, marking more than a year since the company's stock returned to trading on the NYSE Amex exchange. Libbey, based in Toledo and established in 1888, is the largest manufacturer of glass tableware in the western hemisphere.
