Technological advances have brought higher speeds to glass container production. With servo gob distributors and feeders on new multi-section machines, speeds of over 600 bottles/min are being reached. At the same time, lightweighting and super-lightweighting are taking glass out of the bottle. According to Sheppee International, the net result is that ware handling systems are needed which offer an altogether higher level of performance.
