Glass beakers with a 45 degree lean are being produced for disabled people and children to use by a specialist UK designer, Lisa-Dionne Morris. They are part of a range of glass and ceramic tableware designed to be easily handled and used by victims of strokes and of damaged or amputated limbs. Products include blue glass beakers that can be gripped easily by disabled people or by small children. As well as their "lean" the glasses have indentations to make them easier to grip. Ms Morris has a workshop in her home town of Barnsley where she produces the glasses and also ceramic tableware that helps one-handed people to eat more easily and keeps their food hot while they do so. The designer has won two prizes so far for her designs, and is currently designing interior accessories for a US hotel chain.
