Mineral wool is the leading thermal and acoustic insulation product in many countries, and has more than half of western European demand. Both glass and rock wool production involve the consumption of industrial minerals, but as mineral wool producers increase the use of recycled raw materials, one wonders if the mineral supplier will move into a more peripheral role. However, construction trends are pulling the insulation market into a growth phase, and health and environmental considerations are working in the favour of the mineral wool producer and its suppliers.
