Lead-Free "Crystal" Developed In Japan

For the past several years, investigations have been proceeding at Toyo Glass Co Ltd of Japan, with the objective of producing a lead-free glass with properties similar to conventional lead crystal. The investigations have now shown that such a glass, with the appropriate properties, can be manufactured and is now marketed under the name Titan Crystal. A patent has been granted in the USA and applications for patent protection have been submitted in the UK, Germay, France and Italy.
