Pilkington has now launched the latest higher performance solar control version of Pilkington Activ, the self-cleaning glass. Pilkington Activ Suncool HP 70/40 may be installed in a wide range of commercial glazing applications, and others such as glazed roofs and covered walkways. It offers performance that combines self-cleaning with the benefits of solar control. This means a reduction in solar heat gain compared to clear glass along with thermal insulation. The key significance of Pilkington Activ Suncool, however, lies in the 70/40 product coding. The Pilkington Suncool Hp 70/40 coating on the reverse side of Pilkington Activ means that it offers high light transmission of 67%, together with 39% total solar energy transmittance.
