The two largest companies in the auto glass repair & replacement industry announced today (7th Feb) they will merge operations in the US, subject to regulatory approval & other customary closing conditions. Belron S.A., the world's largest vehicle glass repair & replacement company operating in 29 countries, will acquire Safelite Group Inc, the US market leader in replacement & repair services & the only integrated provider of automotive glass insurance claims management, retail fulfillment, automotive glass manufacturing & wholesale distribution. The transaction is expected to close in March & the integration of Belron Inc, the US operation of Belron, & Safelite operations will begin at that time. Upon closing, the newly combined organization will be Belron US (TM).
