Pilkington has developed a new 23mm Pilkington Pyrostop fire resistant glass. Successfully tested up to 60 minutes integrity and insulation, the new product now allows far larger panels to be constructed whilst still retaining the fire resistant properties of the Pyrostop brand. Tested in sizes 1495mm x 2895mm, Pyrostop is a clear, laminated fully insulating fire and safety glass that offers high levels of fire protection. It provides both the integrity requirement of a barrier to smoke, hot gases and flame as well as ensuring effective insulation from the radiant heat of a blaze. Complying with the exacting temperature criteria defined in British EU and International test standards, it has an opaque insulating interlayer that blocks out fire. Pyrostop has achieved a Class A fire safety rating in accordance with BS 6206.
