A mixture of realism and fairytale suggestions characterize Rene Lalique's "Mascotte" collection. Between 1925 and 1931, Lalique created a limited number of diamond-like jewels meant to adorn the hoods of timeless cars such as Bentleys and Rolls Royces. The radiator decorations reflect the French artist's love for nature, animals and symbols drawn from mythology, and reveal the jeweller's master craftsmanship and unique, refined taste.
