Italian-based Kolzer was founded in 1950 and was one of the pioneers in early vacuum technology. The initial activities of the company were dedicated to the assembly of machinery, followed closely by research and the setting up of an operative structure near Milan for the construction and production of machinery for vacuum treatment. This article features some of the historical and present machines that are used to offer metallization, sputtering, plasma and PE-CVD processes, of which 1000 units are currently operational worldwide.
