Keys To Improving Sweepout Performance

Commonly referred to as "pocket sweepouts" or "sweepout baskets" - sweepouts form part of a mechanical device that cradles the glass container during processing. Attached to a cylinder, sweepouts guide the containers 90 deg from the deadplate on to the conveyor. The sweepout is then retracted and returned to the original start point to begin the process again. In this article, the author considers recent developments in the design of pocket sweepouts.
