Kerbside Collection Of Glass

WRAP has commissioned Glass Technology Services (Glass Technology Services) to carry out a brief survey to determine the number of kerbside collection schemes currently in operation and to quantify the resultant increase in glass collected by participating authorities. This study draws on data collected from quarterly returns made by all Municipal Collection Authorities (MCA) to the trade association British Glass, which collects details of the quantities of recycled glass arising in their areas. From these returns, it is estimated that approximately 19% of MCA's covering around 2.2M households operate a kerbside scheme that collects glass.
