Japanese Ministry Of Health, Labour And Welfare

The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare intends to revise current migration specifications for lead and cadmium in glass, ceramic or enamelled containers for food use. ISO 7086 (2000) migration standards for glass hollow ware (which parallel ICF Voluntary Standards) will be used. Revised specifications will be publish din April 2008 and effective six months later. The ICF fully supports this regulatory action which can serve as a model for other countries.
