Jablonex - Strong 2004 Sales Despite Weak Dollar

Jablonex, the Czech Republic's largest exporter of glass and costume jewellery, registered sales of CZK 2.05BN in 2004, despite a weakening US dollar and strong competition from cheap Asian imports. The firm's 2004 sales, as announced 5 January 2004, were on a par with those of 2003. The CZK/EUR rate is more favourable for the company, which is increasingly focusing on EU markets. Jablonex was established in 1951 as an export company for all costume jewellery producers in what was then Czechoslovakia. Today, it represents about 200 companies, selling their products to approximately 1,500 clients in 100 countries. (whole item)
