[Italy] Manfredonia Vetro Opens New Plant In San Giorgio Nogaro

It was reported 22nd October that a new flat glass manufacturing facility will begin production from February 2011 in the town of San Giorgio Nogaro, Italy. The new factory, belonging to Manfredonia Vetro, will produce around 575/tpd for the building, architectural and interior design sectors. Alongside the float line, a high-production line for laminated glass manufacturing is already in operation. By 2010, the start-up of a coating line is expected for the manufacture of low-E glass. The furnace is electrically heated and according to the managers, Sangalli, the plant has been equipped with a dry-cooling system "that does not need water to run; electric motors have been adopted with very high energy-efficiency." Once fully operational, the plant will produce 700/tpd of clear and extra-clear glass and will widen the range of products of the Sangalli Group.
