The Italian Glass Industry And The Environment: How To Comply With The Eu Directive 96/61/Ec

The application of the European Directive 96/61/EC (IPPC) will take effect during the next 4-7 years, according to the Italian legislation (DL 4th August 1999, n. 372). The glass industry will have to apply the Best Available Techniques (BAT), as defined in the reference document (BREF), prepared by the Technical Working Group (TWG) of the EC. Numerous considerations are of great importance for the correct application of the IPPC Directive. The emission levels associated with the selected BAT show the achievement expected from the glass industry, in order to minimize the environmental impact of the sector.
