Iso/Iec 17025 - A New Standard For Laboratories

The publication of ISO/IEC 17025 heralds a new area in the operation and evaluation of laboratories. ISO/IEC 17025 establishes an internationally recognised standard for laboratory practice and offers criteria for the evaluation of competence in testing an calibration laboratories. These criteria cover both management systems requirements and technical requirements relevant to the production of meaningful testing results. They are relevant to all testing and calibration laboratories, and can be applied in diverse fields, from mechanical and chemical testing laboratories to those engaged in electrical, optical and biological testing.
