[Iran] Iranian Container Glass - Sanctions Bite As Industry Modernises

Although the consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited in Iran for religious reasons, the glass container industry is a lively and successful sector. A glass sector equipped with the most up-to-date technologies currently used in EU countries. However, the PET bottle is threatening the glass bottle market. In recent years, due to hygienic reasons, their use was restricted by the Iranian Health Ministry. Nowadays, non-alcoholic beer is popular in Iran and glass container factories are enjoying good profits from this new market. This article looks at how Iran's container glass markets have fared in the last 12 months and what effect economic sanctions are having on the country.
