In the first instalment of a two-part review into the Iranian glass industry, the author of this paper looks at the country's rapidly expanding flat glass and tableware industries and assesses their potential in what is an encouraging new political and economic climate. The Iranian flat glass industry did not have a single float glass line until as recently as 2000, but has stepped on the gas in an unprecedented manner. The country can boast 7 major glass tableware manufacturers too.
