Amcor Glass of Australia and Thailand's Bangkok Glass Industry have joined International Partners in Glass Research (IPGR), an international research consortium for the glass container industry. Amcor Glass is located near the Barossa Valley, north of Adelaide, and began production in 2002. The plant features two of the world's largest dedicated glass container manufacturing furnaces. Servicing the wine industry of Australia and New Zealand, Amcor is producing more than one million wine bottles daily. Bangkok Glass Industry is among Asia's most advanced manufacturers of glass containers, having been founded in 1974. Five plants are currently operated in the provinces Pathumthani, Rayong, Khon Kaen, Prachinburi and Ayutthaya. The combined production capacity of these five plants is 3465/tpd.
