International Marine Ecology Observatory

Made from glass and shaped like a jellyfish is the project for an International Marine Ecology Observatory called Aequorea at Acquacalda on the Isle of Lipari, southern Italy. A spectacular effect is given by the exterior of the observatory which is designed in different shades of curved glass, ranging from a transparent colour to a deep blue. Equally impressive is the wide range of exhibits and educational facilities available.
