International Gas Price Survey

In the latest annual NUS survey of gas prices which covers the period Sept 1998 to Sept 1999, an average decrease of 0.7% can be seen. Costs in each of the 13 countries studied, however, varied. For example, Germany saw an almost 19% rise due to a similar rise in oil prices and an new energy tax. Belgium, on the other hand, witnessed a decrease of nearly 10% because its costs are less dependent on oil prices.
