The 17th edition of the Technical Exchange Conference of the International Crystal Federation (ICF) took place from 8-11 October 2005, in Telfsbuchen, Austria, and was hosted by Swarovski. The conference contained five sessions, with topics ranging from: Exposure to Lead; Lead Chemistry; Sustainable Development; Regulatory Issues/Competitiveness; and Market Trends. The conference was attended by 129 delegates from all over Europe. Introductory comments came from ICF Chairman Paolo Barducci, CALP; Conference Chairman Denis Lalart, from ARC; and Gerold Sprachmann, from Swarovski. Presentations were made by: Swarovski; ARC; Aachen University; Nachtmann; TNO; Luisi; LG Philips; Berufsgenossenschaft der keramischen und Glas-Industrie; LDAI; ILZRO; CPIV; EU Commission; I-F Design; and Rutgers University
