An International Comparison Of The X-Ray Fluorescence And Wet Chemical Analyses Of Two Soda-Lime-Magnesia-Silica Glasses

Fourteen laboratories from eight countries took part in a cooperative analysis of two samples of window glass. Each laboratory made complete chemical and XRF analyses, usually in triplicate, of both glasses and using their own procedures. The results obtained show that good agreement has been obtained by both techniques but that chemical analysis probably produces a lower between-laboratory standard deviation for most constituents.
