Interaction Between Glass And Ethanol

The chemical and physical interactions of ethanol and glass surfaces are reviewed with reference to the literature. The relevance to the levels of lead release from crystal drinking glasses and the long-term behaviour of alcoholic spirits stored in glass bottles are among the topics discussed.
