Integrated Pollution Prevention And Control In The Uk

The aim of the IPPC Directive is to prevent or reduce pollution from a range of industrial and other installations including the glass industry. This is to be done using Best Available Techniques described in reference documents. It takes into consideration: emission to land, water and air; energy and raw material usage; waste minimisation; the prevention of accidents, noise and site restoration. This paper discusses the current situation in the UK and looks at how the new Directive might be transferred into national law.
