As many as 130 jobs could be created as plans to build a £77m UK base for an EU insulation giant are revealed. Spanish-owned Ursa, who produce material used to aid energy efficiency in new homes & businesses on the continent, wants to build its first manufacturing plant in the UK in North Killingholme. Proposals are being made public this week, & should it be given the go-ahead, 60,000/t of glass wool will be produced annually - with a capability of stepping up to 90,000/t. Ursa already has 13 plants in Europe, but this would be a first for the UK, & a major economic boost for the area. David Kemp, commercial manager for Ursa UK, said: "The plans are for a major manufacturing unit, which would be the first completely new glass wool facility for many years & it shows Ursa's commitment to the UK market."
