Inspection Of Bottles And Cans

The requirements that packers need to meet include ensuring that the primary container is both clean & structurally sound to deliver the product to the consumer in pristine condition. The most efficient inspection system available to check the condition of the containers is the human eye, because humans can respond to potential faults with a level of intelligence that is not yet possible from automatic inspection systems. This, however, is the only benefit of using human operatives, who tend to be easily distracted, tire quickly, require frequent breaks & are not equipped to cope with the operational speeds required in commercial environments. In order to meet bottle packers requirements a number of inspection systems are now available for different process stages, as described here. These include systems that will ensure that the crate has a full complement of bottles before unpacking and bottles sorters, which can range from simple two-way sorters to multi-way systems. Inspection systems, however, regardless of the stage, must deliver terms of robustness, reliability, ease of operation and maintenance.
