Innovation In Glass Forming: The Pbb Rp Machine

The PBB RP machine (Press-Blow-Blow Rotating Parison) is the last machine developed by Olivotto Industries. The engineering and the design of the machine finished at the end of 2003. This article takes a look at the machine's features, which include the option to produce tumblers, stemware or vases either in soda lime, barium glass or lead crystal. The PBB RP features a full electronic control system with a simple operator interface for the machine parameters settings. The PBB RP couples all the advantages of producing using a press and blow machine: high production speed; small quantities; possibility to use a substation to make thick or shaped bottoms as well as to use 3 or 4-part moulds; and a blowing machine for high production quality, thin wall thickness.
