Infrared Measurement Extends Its Reach

Even though it is well understood that thermocouples used in an oven have an unfortunate habit of measuring their own tip temperature instead of the temperature of the product they are supposed to monitor, they remain in use in a variety of industrial processes. The author here shows that this need not continue.
