Influence Of Eu3+ And Ho3+ On Nucleation And Crystallisation Of Fluoride Glasses

The effect of Eu and Ho on crystallisation behaviour of ZrBaYAl-fluoride glasses has been investigated in the present study. Kinetic data have been obtained by non-isothermal DSC method. The evaluation of activation energies of crystallisation has been carried out in terms of the Johnson-Mehl-Avrami equation, by the Kissinger method. The stability parameter proposed by Saad and Poulain has also been calculated. Both of these parameters indicate that Eu is an effective stabilizer in the middle of the examined dopant concentration range, while Ho is effective at higher concentrations.
