A single sheet of glass from Vetrotech Saint-Gobain is claimed to have achieved an industry first in a groundbreaking fire test in France. A sheet of SGG Contraflam-N2, measuring more than 7m square, achieved 66 minutes of integrity and insulation - a 10% overrun. According to the firm, the test (which provides certification to EN 1364 Part 1) means that it can offer the highest level of fire protection in glass sizes that were previously thought impossible - particularly into a timber frame. The glass can be used for single or double glazed units.
