Industrial Solution To Manual Swabbing Is Now Possible (In French)

The manual lubrication of moulds for hollow glass is obligatory. The main consequences are a quality decrease of articles during swabbing with their rejection and the health and safety of machine operators who lubricate each cavity at regular 15 minutes intervals on a running machine. Among all the tested solutions to eliminate manual swabbing, sooting is the only industrial way. The sooting process consists of cracking acetylene to get carbon black on the glass contacting surface of the mould. In order to make this solution more economical, BSN Glass Pack has developed a new mixer supporting burners without pilot flame. This is possible by cracking acetylene with electric ignition.
