This paper presents the results of some of the first industrial references for the Alglass ForeHearth (FH) burner, an oxy combustion technology developed by Air Liquide for glass forehearth processes. The Alglass FH burner is based on an innovative and patented method for fuel injection with a swirl effect to control flame length. The burner type can also be easily adapted to customer refractory block. The robustness and reliability of the burner and its performances to control flame length and heat transfer were first demonstrated in an Air Liquide pilot furnace for several months. These advantages have been confirmed through industrial references such as borosilicate container glass process and an E glass fiber process.
