Indonesian Auto Glass Expansion Bridges Gap

PT Asahimas Flat Glass (AMFG), the Indonesia-based float and processed glass manufacturing unit under AGC Group, has gone ahead with a major expansion of its automotive glass production plant to increase capacity by over 450% to one million car units making it one of the major autoglass manufacturers in Asia. In this article, AMFG officials, including its corporate secretary Rusli Pranadi, discusses the company's development projects and how it copes with the current supply shortage in Indonesia and other South East Asian markets following disruption in production and shipments of float and automotive glass from Thailand due to unprecedented floods.
